We recently produced a Nike Women's Sculpt Icon Clash fitness shoot implementing the highest COVID-19 safety protocols on set. This particular shoot was done on the first day we were allowed to be open, essentially at the start of phase three of re-opening in California. Our team was eager to get back out to shoot, but we were also very concerned about how we would integrate our COVID-19 protocols in the most efficient & attentive way possible.

We created this project for our team to not only shake off the rust so-to-speak but to also get our talent & our crew up to speed on applying the necessary protocols into a production setting. Our work consists of highly crafted sports photography, & fitness fashion, thus, we chose the Nike Sculpt Icon Clash wardrobe in various color palettes as a thematic. We also incorporated ultra-soft broad sourced lighting to capture the subtle textured features in graphic design elements of the wardrobe to enhance the structure of the pieces.

Nike Women's Sculpt Icon Clash seamless training line is fresh, innovative, & provides high-level contour for the body. We integrated soft light + pastel vibes to produce a highly coveted look with all the form & structure imaginable. We used the colors of the line as washes in the studio & huge soft light to bring out the buttery texture & shape of this incredible line of training apparel.

In terms of talent, we cast athletes that showed a high degree of flexibility & strength to show off the athletic qualities of the training apparel. The models produced strong depth & their powerful bodies showed off the sculpting features of the collection. We shot the models individually over 6 hours. Each model shot for about 1.5 hours.

We allotted for sufficient time in between changes to clean the set & keep the exposure to the absolute minimum by implementing high-level production protocols. We had no more than nine people on set at any one time. This included a dedicated sanitation expert that thoroughly cleaned & wiped the set with specific coronavirus killing sanitizer spray.

We incorporated colored light sources to create an ethereal, complimentary environment that helped the wardrobe stand out for the bold patterns to essentially become the hero of the shoot. We utilized the accent color of the apparel & made it an accent color of the lighting. We also washed the studio lighting to support the secondary color.

The complete dimensionality of the apparel mixed with the talent is highly tactile & builds a substantial amount of shape. You can practically feel the depth with the imagery of the talent interwoven with the apparel. It's to some extent, due to the lighting behind the scenes, that created a super smooth radiance between the light & shadow on set. The Nike Women's Sculpt Icon Clash features a unique pattern & the colors are seemingly bold & vibrant, which complements my style of photography.
